NOW (Nutrition on Weekends) Backpack Program at Norman Jr. High is an ongoing mission project supported by Kaufman FUMC throughout the school year.
NOW is organized by the school counselors and the Jr. High student leadership class. The leadership class has fundraisers throughout the year to fund the program, but they are extremely grateful to us for the extra help we provide.
Each Friday, the students receive a duffle bag of non-perishable food items. Once a month, toiletries are added to their personal backpacks.
Current needs are canned pasta, soup, fruit cups, juice, peanut butter, shampoo/conditioner. You may bring your donations to church or to the church office.
If you would like to make a monetary donation by check, make payable to FUMC (note NOW or Backpack). You may also make donations online at onrealm.org/FirstUnitedMeth61253/give/gifts — scroll to Outreach, note NOW or Backpack.
