Since 1845
You Have a Place Here
A congregation in Kaufman since 1845 — worshiping, serving, and welcoming for over 180 years.
You're welcome here
Whether you grew up in these pews or you're walking in for the first time, there's a place for you at First United Methodist. Come as you are — we mean that. You'll find a friendly welcome, a cup of coffee, and a community that has been showing up for one another in Kaufman for well over 180 years.
Our Story
Nearly two centuries of faith in this community.
Organized in February 1845 as the Kingsborough Methodist Episcopal Church, South, our congregation has worshiped in Kaufman for more than 180 years, through a name change, three sanctuaries, and dozens of pastors.
