Christmas Cantata: "Touched by a Child, Touched by a King"
December 12, 2025
Music Notes by Leona
It's that time of year again. Christmas! There's so much to do: shopping, traveling, cooking, decorating, and the list goes on. All of these things are important of course, but let's not forget that it's also Advent. Advent means waiting for the arrival of something – or in our case, SOMEONE. The Christian Advent meaning is "waiting for the coming or second coming of Christ". In other words, the child in the manger and the second coming of our King.
Who is that Someone? Will you be touched by Him this season. I mean Really touched! There are many ways to be touched by Him during this Advent season. One of the ways that I, and maybe you as well, get in touch with Him is through music.
Our cantata this year is titled "Touched by a Child, Touched by a King". Yes, we focus on the baby boy. He touches our hearts. "O come let us adore Him" we sing. Yet also, he is more than a baby: "born the King of Angels". This wonderful amazing birth where the Child is also a King.
If you want to hear more of how to be touched by a Child and a King this Advent season, "O Come All Ye Faithful".
December 14th at 9:00 AM in our Sanctuary.
