"Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!" (Mark 11:9)
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week...a moment filled with celebration, expectation, and deep irony. Jesus entered Jerusalem not as a conquering king on a war horse, but humbly, riding on a donkey. The crowds waved palm branches and shouted "Hosanna," meaning "save us now," believing He would deliver them from Roman rule.
Yet, Jesus came for something far greater than political rescue...He came to bring salvation to all hearts.
It’s striking how quickly the same crowd that praised Him would later turn away. It reminds us how easy it can be to celebrate Jesus when life feels hopeful, yet struggle to trust Him when things don’t unfold as expected.
Palm Sunday invites us to examine our own hearts. Do we welcome Jesus when He meets our expectations? Or do we trust Him as King, even when His ways are different than our own?
Today, lay down your "palms"...your expectations, worries, and desires... before Jesus. Welcome Him not just as Savior, but as Lord over every part of your life!
Dear Lord Jesus, Thank You for coming in humility and love. Help me to follow You not just in moments of joy, but in times of uncertainty. Teach me to trust Your plan, even when I don’t understand it. Be the true King of my heart today.
In Jesus name, Amen
Love and Blessings,
Karen Park
