The author of Hebrews offers this word of encouragement to faithful disciples: "God is not unjust; he will not overlook your work and the love that you showed for his sake in serving the saints, as you still do. (Hebrews 6:10 NRSV)" Much of the work that sustains a church is rarely noticed. There are no headlines for preparing communion, folding bulletins, sending cards, making phone calls, or quietly praying for others day after day. Yet these small acts of faithfulness are part of the lifeblood of a congregation. There are people among us whose steady service has shaped the community over many years. Some have taught classes, sung in choirs, prepared meals, visited the sick, and cared for the grounds without seeking recognition. Others have carried out a quieter ministry still: praying faithfully for family members, encouraging discouraged friends, or simply showing up week after week as a witness to enduring faith. Often, what gets celebrated is large, visible, and looks successful. But Scripture reminds us that God sees differently. Hebrews tells us that God does not overlook that work done in love. Even the smallest act of kindness or service matters in the kingdom of God. This can be an important reminder when our efforts feel ordinary or unnoticed. Faithfulness is not always dramatic. More often, it is found in consistency, patience, and a willingness to keep loving and serving. The church is built not only through great moments, but through countless quiet acts offered in love. Acts that can be found in your own lives. As we think about our life together, perhaps this it's a good time to give thanks for the hidden faithfulness around us—and to consider how God might use our own acts of service to encourage others. God sees what is done in love, and nothing offered faithfully is ever wasted. See you Sunday! Rhea
