A Note from the Leadership Board
February 27, 2026
By Teresa Pottorff
Leadership Board Chair
We wanted to share a quick update about what your Leadership Board has been up to.
As the year got started, one of our first priorities was welcoming and orienting new members who joined the board. We're thankful for each person who said yes to serving, and we spent time getting everyone grounded in how we work together, what guides our decisions, and the spirit in which we want to lead. That kind of groundwork doesn't always show up front and center, but it's important for building trust and shared understanding.
We've also been spending time on some of the steady, behind-the-scenes work that helps support the life of the church—reviewing financial information, talking about what we're seeing, and being thoughtful about stewardship. One verse that's been meaningful as we do this work is Proverbs 11:14: "Where there is no guidance, a people fall, but in an abundance of counselors there is safety." It's been a good reminder of the value of listening carefully to one another and seeking wisdom together.
Looking ahead, we've begun some early conversations about upcoming seasons like Lent and Easter, along with ongoing facility needs and outreach priorities. We'll have the chance to dive more deeply into these "looking ahead" conversations during our board retreat in April, where we'll spend focused time praying, listening, and discerning together.
Much of this work happens quietly, but we wanted to share a glimpse of the care and attention being given behind the scenes. If you're ever interested in learning more, you are always welcome to attend a Leadership Board meeting, which typically takes place on the third Monday of each month. As always, we invite you to continue praying for our church as we seek to follow God's leading together.
