A Weekly Update from Pastor Rhea: Trust Him with Today

Sometimes I find myself thinking that the only thing I can be sure isn't going to happen is the thing I'm expecting to happen. Now, that's not always true, of course, but the truth is that we as people are not very good at anticipating the future. That will surprise no one, but it's interesting how often we still find ourselves thinking that understanding "what's next" should be our goal.

I'm not saying there's no value in planning for or thinking about the future. What I am saying is that, beneath our anxiety and fear, we actually all have a lot of practice at "rolling with the punches." At adapting. At meeting our circumstances.

And as followers of Jesus, that practice can help us to see some of the many ways God is at work. Even when we can't see it. Even when we wonder "how can this possibly work out?" Because God isn't waiting for us to understand or predict. God is calling us to trust, to gracious action, and to hope in God's presence and care.

Walking that road is a journey into God's peace, and I pray it's a road each of us find ourselves on each day.

See you Sunday!
